Chapter 2
Usually a one night stand is the effect of a couple of drinks. Does the girl assume that there is something to be made of if the guy chooses to spend the night after the "what ever you what to call it" has been done? By something to be made of I mean a relationship. I don't think that it would make a difference, but in the book there is an example that says that it would be easier for the girl to understand if the guy left afterwards. I know that the majority of the group is composed of women so this question would go out to them and anyone else from other groups.

Sometimes when reading this book I feel like Shalit makes girls seem so innocent and often victimized. I know that in some one night stands the girls are the ones provoking the situation, not always the guys. Yes its true, guys seem to be more sexual, but all girls are not so sweet and innocent. In the blog it says that "usually a one night stand is the effect of a couple of drinks," thats not completely true. I know that a one night stand can be a result of many differen't scenarios including the girl going after a guy just for the mere pleasure of it.If a guy wants to spend the night or a girl wants to spend the night after, it all just depends on the situation. I feel like girls have got to know what they are getting into and should be prepared to handle it that night or the next day.

For once I agree with Shalit when she says "it's better to get it over with", usually anything negetive is better to get over than later then just deal with it. She also makes a good point about learning from the whole experience.

I agree with Kristen. Women are not always victims having sex forced on them. Women also are not stupid. Most people are aware that if you hook up with some guy you barely know, chances are he won't be calling. Treating someone like all you want is sex will probably get you just that and only that.
