Chapter 6

I agree with Shalit on page 116. Here she reveals what women think about Playgirl. Honestly, I wholeheartedly agree. I am not attracted to overly-buff men in skimpy panties. This is the opposite of a turn on for me. I think men and women are just different here. Obviously men are turned on by reading a Playboy. I do think there are clear distinctions between men and women that will never be equated.

I completley agree with sara here, there is nothing sexy to me about looking at naked guys. Honestly I don't think the male anatomy is very attractive at all. Personally I think a guy is most attractive when he is wearing a tshirt and khaki shorts, but I would still not be turned on looking at a magazine full of fully clothed men either. Guys and girls are just differen't when it comes to being and what we find sexy.

I also agree with her statement about Playgirl. To be honest, I've never even seen a Playgirl magazine and I don't plan on it. I do not think those guys are attractive in any way which makes me wonder why most girls are not turned on by looking at these pictures and guys are. This example clearly shows that there are differences that will never become equal...which in my opinion is quite ok!

Well, it looks as if your not the only one. In the book Shalit brings up a magazine that had 4 out of 5 women say that playgirl was not a big turn on for them. Maybe men and women differ on how they want to see the other sex. One of the women said that she considers someones mind instead of their appearance.

I disagree when the letter she cites on page 116 says that women are attracted to the looks and personal qualities to find a man desirable. I think that men take the same considerations as women, but sometimes that gets overlooked.
